Jim Valentino Interview

Jim Valentino

"...it was a place where I could meet people who were in the business and on the periphery of the business and I could learn about how to get into the business because there were no books, there was no internet, there was no easy access and no How-To books in those days."

Jim Valentino is a lifelong fan and creator of comics. He joined the Comic-Con planning committee in the mid-1970s, first by helping at the art show and later by editing program books. Jim reflects on the sense of community and dedication to hard work he experienced during those early Comic-Cons.

Jim was mentored and encouraged by Ken Krueger and has a long career in the comic industry. He is a co-founder of Image Comics and is currently publisher of its Shadowline imprint.
